Lana Del Rey seems to be everywhere these days…her controversial appearance on SNL a few weeks ago elevated the public awareness for Del Rey and her haunting sound.
That SNL appearance just confirms – there is no such thing as bad publicity. She was roundly panned for the performance… and three weeks later she has the #3 album on iTunes! Look around town and you’ll see posters for her new album Born to Die on the plywood wall surrounding many construction sites – a certain claim to fame!
We’ve been hip to Del Rey for a few months…we really like her sound. I particularly like the Penguin Prison remix of her song Blue Jeans…give a listen…
You can catch Lana Del Rey in person at Amoeba Music on Tuesday, February 7th at 6p. Amoeba is famous for their free in-store concerts…you can get there early since there’s plenty to keep you busy with the best music collection in the world at your finger-tips!

Mary has lived in the Hancock Park area for over 20 years - including homes in Larchmont Village and Windsor Square. Mary has lived in some great places in her life - but none compare to the convenience and majesty of our neighborhood. For Mary, the neighborhood has been a wonderful home to her large, extended family...at one time she had family members living on seven different Hancock Park area blocks! Larchmont Buzz is a labor of love - built to celebrate the neighborhood and to elevate the conversation in the area.
