Chef Nancy Silverton has been a celebrity in our neighborhood since the 80’s when she co-founded La Brea Bakery and Campanile Restaurant. La Brea Bakery changed the way Angelenos thought about bread.
Then she teamed up with Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich to open Pizzeria Mozza, and change the way Angelenos thought about pizza. Shortly thereafter came Osteria Mozza.
And then Mozza 2 Go opened, so all of us in the ‘hood (and all over L.A.) could snag pizzas and other Mozza goodies without waiting weeks for a reservation.
Now everyone (well, everyone who cooks well) will be able to recreate the joy of eating at the Mozzas from the recipes in Nancy’s latest cookbook, “The Mozza Cookbook: Recipes from Los Angeles’s Favorite Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria” which she co-authored with Matt Molina, Executive Chef of Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza, and writer Carolynn Carreño.
If you’d like to support your local independent bookstore, and meet Nancy Silverton, Matt Molina and Carolynn Carreňo, stop by Chevalier’s Books at 126 Larchmont Boulevard between 10 -11 am on Sunday, October 16 when they’ll be signing their fabulous new cookbook. Or as the L.A .Weekly so eloquently described it, “This cookbook is freaking awesome.”
And you can pick up your produce and pasta for Nancy’s recipes right down the street at the Larchmont Farmer’s market, which is open every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm.
Stop in and see us soon!
