Organ Will Soar at St James

On Sunday, November 13 one of the west coast’s greatest musical treasures will be played for all its worth when the 100 year old organ in St. James’ in the City is rededicated by Australian organist David Drury.

The Murray Harris organ was built at the turn of the century for St Paul’s Cathedral and eventually made its way to the corner of Wilshire and St. Andrews Place where it went through numerous refurbishments and additions to become the masterpiece it is today with over  5,000 pipes and 90 ranks. To hear a master like Drury perform Bach, Walton and Liszt will no doubt be one free concert in the Hancock Park area that you don’t want to miss.
