Film: Where Is the Friend’s House?

April 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

$5

A young Iranian boy ventures to a neighboring village in an attempt to return a schoolmate’s lost notebook to avoid the wrath of their tyrannical teacher. Master filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami (The Taste of Cherry) transforms this simple story into a vivid portrayal of the challenges of childhood and the indifference of adults. The first of Kiarostami’s trilogy of films set in the village of Koker, this classic helped introduce the director to an international audience and is still considered one of his finest works.

DIRECTED/WRITTEN BY: Abbas Kiarostami. WITH: Babek Ahmed Poor, Ahmed Ahmed Poor, Kheda Barech Defai, Iran Outari. 1987. 83 min. Iran. Color. Persian. DCP.
