Artist, educator, and friend Cedric Tai will lead the process.Artist, Educator, and Friend, Cedric Tai will be facilitating 3 free workshops of co-learning. Workshop #2 was “What Could Neuroqueer Filmmaking be?” which took place during “Polarity” @ Robinson Space on Nov. 5th, 2022, with the LevelGround Collective.

Workshop #3 “Dreaming a Neuroqueer Film” will take place within the art installation The Garden by artist Megan Whitmarsh, where she is providing access to handmade costumes and props! Cedric will be leading the process and a Zoom intro session preceding the day of filming from 11 am – 2 pm where we can go over filming in the small art gallery the next day.

They will also introduce everyone to the meta-ness of the film concept as a way to educate ourselves about how films are made, starting with giving ourselves permission to make a film (or parts to a film). Cedric will also go over ‘Internal Family Systems,’ “Parts work”, in order to come up with characters and a single line of dialogue, and then go over the logistics of how everyone will get the footage in order to cut their own version of a film. The number of active participants will be limited (camera operators, directors, actors), but the number of participants (who could be background actors) will not be limited.

This is taking place in the Hansell Gallery at the Philosophical Research Society on Sat. March 30th during their open hours, 1 – 7 pm and lunch will be provided.
Zoom info will be e-mailed to participants. The Philosophical Research Society is located at 3910 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027
