Original Farmers Market Mardi Gras Celebration

Get ready for a weekend of vibrant colors, lively music, and authentic New Orleans vibes at The Original Farmers Market’s annual Mardi Gras celebration! This beloved tradition kicks off on the evening of Friday, February 9^th, with an electrifying performance by the band Alligator Beach from 7-9 PM. The festivities continue Saturday, February 10^th, with a lineup of exciting activities, including jester puppet-making, and the much-anticipated Mutti Gras Pet Parade & Contest where you can see our four-legged friends in some of the cutest and most festive costumes around! Cajun-inspired merchant The Gumbo Pot will have a pop-up tent with their fan-favorite beignets (and other delectable Southern treats) available for purchase. Make sure to stop by and grab some of these fluffy and perfectly fried confections before they run out!

Throughout the day, live bands will perform to capture the spirit of New Orleans, featuring Kenny Sara & The Sounds of New Orleans, Footlong PoBoy Jazz Band, and Rhythm Krewe. The fun continues Sunday, February 11^th, where you can purchase a second round of mouthwatering beignets at The Gumbo Pot’s tent, accompanied by live performances from the Bear Brass Band and Crawdaddio. Join us for a weekend filled with the spirit of Mardi Gras through food, live music, and exciting events!

To mark the final day of carnival before Lent, Fat Tuesday, will be taking place on Tuesday, February 13^th, with celebratory music from fan-favorite band, the Nervis Bros. Stop by the Market and indulge in a delightful array of your favorite treats, before embarking on the fasting season!
