Brookside Caroling Party

The annual Brookside Christmas caroling party took place last night under misty skies.

Last night’s light rain didn’t diminish the Christmas spirit in Brookside for its annual Christmas caroling around the tightly knit neighborhood of 425 homes.

Organized about five years ago by resident Roy Forbes, the caroling party is complete with a horse-drawn carriage, hot chocolate and rum toddies and draws more than 50 neighbors out to sing. If you’re not a singer, you can sign up for the caroling party to stop by your house to serenade your family and guests.  Forbes provides the song sheets, leads the songs and directs the party around the neighborhood, even crossing Rimpau with 50 or so people including small children in tow.

“It’s my favorite neighborhood event, my kids look forward to it every year,” said Megan Drynan, who lives on Tremaine, right near the starting point of last night’s festivities at Ninth Street and Tremaine Avenue.

Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
