Larchmont Village reader Keith Johnson has been keeping Larchmont Buzz posted on the effort by neighbors to replace a wood power pole before it’s extreme lean to the west resulted in a thud across Van Ness Avenue.
Neighbors have been trying to get the pole replaced for nearly five years. No one knew who owned the pole and so the pole was roped to a light pole as a temporary way to keep it from tilting further. Recently, a neighbor reached out to Councilmember Tom LaBonge’s office and the team in the CD4 Council office did the research that would finally resolve the issue.
The pole was replaced by LADWP late last week. It turns out that the pole is anchoring communication lines for Time Warner or AT&T.

Hi –
Would love to know more about the new orange building on Larchmont north of Beverly – Snooknuk. They just opened what appears to be a cafe too. Thanks
We saw that it just opened this weekend – believe it is an indoor play place for kids (and a cafe for parents.) Thanks for your interest – we’ll do a story soon.
Yes, noticed they were open on Sunday, was going to stop by to check it out but forgot.
