Expect to see many Noble Firs and Douglas Pines tied atop residents’ cars this weekend as the countdown to Christmas ticks away with just 18 days left. Two lots in the Wilshire and Larchmont area offer fresh cut trees while also supporting local charitable programs.
The Delancey Street Foundation is selling trees at a new location at 4180 Wilshire Blvd at Crenshaw, across from the Harbor Building.  The corner lot is paved and more expansive than the former lot on Wilshire and Rimpau that is currently being developed as a multi-unit residential complex. The Delancey Street Foundation is a residential self-help program for substance abusers, ex-convicts and the homeless  which operates locally on Vermont Ave where participants receive academic and vocational training.
Delancey Street Tree Lot is open 9 am – 9 pm weekdays, 9 am – 10 pm weekends. The lot will deliver your tree for a small fee.
The Wilshire Rotary has set up its fresh tree lot again at 568 N. Larchmont, tucked in on the east side of the street across from the Page School. Net proceeds from the tree lot will be used for service projects in our community. Members of the Rotary volunteer their time to help sell trees, so it’s often a great place to catch up with your neighbors.  This year buyers can also  donate at the lot to LAPD’s “Shoes for Santa” program that provides thousands of pairs of shoes to needy recipients in the area on Christmas day.
The Wilshire Rotary Tree Lot is open Daily, 10 am – 8 pm daily. The lot offers a delivery service.
