About 500 people turned out Monday night for the 24th annual Taste of Larchmont, supporting Hope-Net food pantries, said Douglas Ferraro, Hope-Net Executive Director.Â
“I think it was a wonderful evening. People had a great time and enjoyed friends and food,” said Ferraro, the only staff person coordinating the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and local religious organizations who operate 13 local food pantries in the mid-city area.Â
“The weather was perfect (not too hot!) and that really made it wonderful,” said Steve Tator, local Coldwell Banker realtor who recently stepped off the Hope-Net board of directors after serving for more than twenty years. “Everyone in the local community is so generous and that really helps us raise about $50,000 in our largest annual fundraiser.” Tator also helps get local businesses, like Paramount Studios, to sponsor the event, and others to donate raffle and silent auction items.
