News from the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council
The City of LA is eliminating the existing Transportation Element of its General Plan and replacing it with a new Mobility Element. This is a major planning shift and the changes could affect you. In the new Mobility Element, vehicles will be granted 79 miles of enhanced roadway compared to 237 for transit and 180 for bikes. Vehicle flow will most likely no longer be the key metric in evaluating roadway utilization.
In planning for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the new Mobility Element there is one remaining public scoping hearing to discuss what the EIR should cover. Stakeholders can attend the meetings in person or online. Before the city creates its plan, they want to hear from you about how you want to move through the city in the future.
This is your chance to provide feedback on the upcoming changes…so please participate!
