Today is the last day to register for Sunday’s Griffith Park Run Half Marathon & 5K! It’s a great way to run off all those potential calories before the Super Bowl, and registration fees support the LA Parks Foundation whose mission is to enhance, expand, preserve, and promote public recreation, parks, and open space for the diverse people of Los Angeles.
“We are very excited to have over 400 runners signed up for the race,” LA Parks Foundation Executive Director and Windsor Square resident Carolyn Ramsay told the Buzz this morning. “By race time, we expect to have around 500, which is perfect for allowing runners to spread out for safety. In the past, as many as 1,200 runners have run the race, but COVID precautions make this the right number for now.”
The half marathon and 5k races will start at 7:30 am and 8:00 am respectively. Ramsay invited interested runners to use a special Friends of the Parks codes below to get a discount on registration.
