Local Flooding

City crews from the LA Sanitation Department were working to clear drains to reduce the flooding at the intersection of Las Palmas and Beverly Blvd. today, due to the large amount of rain.

Fortunately most of our major streets are draining quite well after the last few days of heavy rain.  This morning, though, we found some large puddles on Rossmore and Beverly in the usual places.  For example, LA Sanitation crews were out cleaning the storm drains that were clogged and causing a large flooded are on the north side of the intersection at Beverly Blvd and Las Palmas in Hancock Park. According to one of the workers, when we stopped by this morning, they’re cleaning out the catch basins, which get filled with leaves and other debris, including trash.

We also found a large puddle on Rossmore Avenue, just south of Clinton Street.  But overall, most of the neighborhood streets we drove were relatively free of large puddles and debris.
