Mid City West Community Council Renters Representative Seat Empty

The Mid City West Community Council is looking for an interested resident to consider joining the group to represent renters in the community.

“If you live, work, own real property within our neighborhood council’s borders, or have a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder (defined as a person who affirms a substantial and ongoing participation within the neighborhood council’s boundaries and who may be in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit and/or religious organizations) you are eligible for the open Renters Representative seat!,” according to a recent email from the Council to the community.

The current board will vote to select an eligible stakeholder to fill the vacancy at the next regular board meeting. All candidates will have an opportunity to present to the board and are encouraged to notify the Executive Council, in advance of the meeting, of their intent to run.  All interested candidates must attend the next General Board Meeting on Tuesday, October 13 to be eligible. (Also worth nothing: all Mid City West Community Council meetings are virtual at this time.)

After being seated, the new board member will be required to complete all ethics, funding and code of conduct training required by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, and to attend general board and committee meetings on a monthly basis.
