Back in April, we wrote about the big Rossmore Ave. water main replacement project that was just starting at 3rd and Rossmore. It looks like that was a bit of a false start, however, and according to Hancock Park Homeowners Association President Cindy Chvatal, who spoke about the project at last night’s Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council meeting, some big events at the nearby Wilshire Country Club and the Consulate General of Canada delayed things a bit. But the project will start up again on June 20, said Chvatal, so the city is trying to get word about potential traffic disruptions over the next few months.
According to the city, work will begin on Muirfield Rd., from 3rd St. to Rossmore, and then proceed on Rossmore just north of 3rd St. Access onto Rossmore from 3rd St., Muirfield Road, and Melrose Ave. will be limited to residents only during construction hours (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. M-F, with some possible construction on Saturdays). One lane on Muirfield Rd. and Rossmore will remain open throughout the project. A map and further details are available in the flier below.
Also, in addition to the water main project, the HPHOA announced in a community email this morning that “the 600 block of Wilcox will be closed in front of Hancock Park Terrace apartments on Friday June 10th for street slurry work. It doesn’t appear that you will not be able to travel from Clinton to Melrose. The work should be over by end of day Friday.”
The water main project will continue through October, however.
