41st Annual Lucerne Block Party Draws Over 100 residents

Over 100 residents enjoyed “Bollywood on Lucerne” at the 41st Annual Lucerne Block Party on Sunday afternoon.

The 41st Annual Lucerne Blvd Block Party drew over 100 residents to the “Bollywood” themed event that featured henna tattoos, Bollywood dancers, and delicious Indian cuisine, in addition to traditional block party fare like hot dogs and burgers. Organizer Kiel Fitzgerald told the Buzz, she and her committee of Lucerne Blvd residents, including one eight year-old neighbor, were excited that more than 100 people RSVP’d to attend the annual street party.

Lucerne resident Alan Dunn’s company Très L.A. provided all the food along with the festive street decor. His wife Leena, who also served on the organizing committee, suggested the theme and arranged for the dancers. She also set up the “giving bags” for residents to make donations that would be given to the homeless. The Dunns have lived on Lucerne for the past three years and this is the second time Très L.A. had provided the food for the party.

We stoped by early and took some photos. It was a glorious fall afternoon for a block party.
