Aella Women’s Wear Holiday Pop-Up Store on Larchmont

AELLA clothing for women has opened a holiday pop up store at 143 N Larchmont from now until December 23. The AELLA  (pronounced AY-luh) line features clothing designed to feel comfortable (like yoga pants) but looks polished and tailored for the busy gal who wants to look good when she’s running errands or running a meeting.

The garments are  designed by company founder Eunice Cho, a fashion designer turned MBA, who decided to make her own clothing after trying for years to find a comfortable business suit.

“The name comes from Aella, the leader of the independent and ferocious Greek Amazons, a nation of female warriors,” said Ariyana Smith, Manager, Marketing & Business Development. “They were also the first women in Western culture depicted wearing pants. We drew on the inspiration of the name when designing for the modern day AELLA – a 24/7 woman who lives without boundaries.”

Larchmont is the first retail location for the company, which has been selling online and through its showroom.

“Our customer base is built into this neighborhood,” explained Smith. “Busy women working out at Pop Physique or Flywheel are already here and there’s lots of foot traffic on Larchmont.” In the right location, the pop up store allows the owners to stay lean and agile as the business develops.

Available in sizes 0-12 (soon to include 14), the line consists of slim fitting pants, long a-line skirts, t-shirt tops and jackets, all  made in Los Angeles of a flexible, matte skin Italian fabric that’s wrinkle resistant and machine washable. The company’s basic color palette of navy, black and white is intended to provide a foundation wardrobe customers can build from when the 2 year-old company starts to expand its colors.

Cheeki Brand intimate apparel, the chic, high-quality underwear in a slim, lightweight, and airtight package, and Land by Land Candles, handmade with 100% natural ingredients are also available in the shop. There will also be a selection of LA based brands or brands founded and run by women at the store.
