This could be a record breaking year for the Larchmont Family Fair, according to Vivian Gueler, volunteer co-chair, who told the Buzz that yesterday’s event may have sold more tickets than ever before. Gueler handled much of the work behind the scenes for the fair, while her co-chair, Betsey Malloy, coordinated all the production. It’s Malloy’s seventh year running the fair and every year she tries to tweak things to make fair better, she told the Buzz.
This was the second year In-N-Out Burger brought its truck to the event, drawing lots of people to the nearby eating area. There were also all kinds of inflatables and an extra petting zoo and pony vendor were added to reduce lines. There was also a bubble pit, which left lots of bubbly white suds all over little ones and the street. (Probably the first time we’ve seen that!)
The annual event is sponsored by the Larchmont Boulevard Association and its all -olunteer members. Proceeds from the fair usually just about cover the costs. Congrats to the LBA and its member merchants and businesses who support this wonderful neighborhood tradition.
