Homeboy Industries has launched a Homeboy Industries Food Truck as the tenth social enterprise business since the organization was founded by Father Greg Boyle in 1988. The truck will feature a variety of Homeboy’s food products including seven types of chilaquiles, five kinds of tacos, a variety of sandwiches, and pastry selections from Homeboy’s bakery production facility.
Homeboy Industries’ social enterprises generate revenue that enables the organization to serve high-risk, formerly gang-involved men and women with a continuum of free services and programs, and operate several social enterprises that serve as job-training sites. The highly successful non-profit was founded by Father Greg Boyle, who grew up in Windsor Square on Norton Avenue.
If the Food Truck is a success, it will be the first of many Homeboy Food Trucks throughout greater LA. The Homeboy Industries Food Truck will be at various set locations throughout greater Los Angeles and is available for event catering. Their food is really great and we recommend following the truck on Facebook and Twitter so you know when it’s nearby.
