Last week, we told you about how the Wilshire Park School library is looking for help to fill its way-too-empty shelves, to find replacements for much-loved books that are barely holding together, and maybe, just maybe, to also acquire a few much-needed student computers for the library.
Leatrice Floyd, the library aide at Wilshire Park, contacted the Buzz yesterday to say that after our story ran, the school received many phone calls from people who were interested in helping in one way or another. That’s the wonderful news.
Unfortunately, however, the not-so-good news is that many callers either did not leave messages when they didn’t reach Floyd (her time is shared with another school, so she’s not at Wilshire Park every day)…or, in some cases, messages that might have been taken also did not reach her, so she has not been able to return the calls.
So let’s give it another shot. If you are, or know of, someone who tried to contact Floyd last week about helping the Wilshire Park library, but if you or they have not yet received a response to that call, please, please, please try again. Either:
- E-mail Ms. Floyd directly at [email protected]
- Call the school at (213) 739-4760 and leave a message specifically for library aide Leatrice Floyd
(Also, of course, if you meant to contact them but just never got around to it…here’s another chance!)
Floyd promises to respond personally to all contacts. And the Buzz promises to let you know how it all turns out.
