“The Fourth of July wouldn’t be the same without Wilshire County Club,” said Norton Avenue resident Diana Knox, who’s been enjoying the club’s fireworks display from various places around Hancock Park for more than 30 years. “Residents along the 300 block of North Rossmore have front row seats. Neighbors on Lilian Way and Wilcox can just look up and see the fabulous fireworks,” she added.
Members of the Los Angeles Tennis Club can have a spectacular view from that facility, too. But you don’t have to be a member or guest of either club to see the fireworks. Longtime residents like Knox tell us the fireworks can be seen from corners adjacent to the Rossmore/Beverly Boulevard area. Favorite corners include Rossmore and Rosewood and Beverly and Arden.
Viewing is also possible from farther away and other angles…and little distance allows you to have a fuller view.  Buzz editor Elizabeth Fuller watched them for many years from her brother’s back yard in the Miracle Mile North area, which she says was perfect when their children were younger – the explosions weren’t as loud from that distance, so the kids were never scared, even as toddlers.
You can also view the fireworks from the east side of the golf course.  Just be sure to look up around 9 pm this evening, once the sky gets perfectly dark.  (And if you forget, the sounds of “bombs bursting in air” should be a handy reminder.)
