Last week, gunfire was reported in Windsor Square. The incident, which did not involve any residents, occurred mid-day on Monday, August , 2022 Â in the 600 block of Lorraine Blvd between two vehicles, a red minivan and a black SUV. Â Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.
Today the Windsor Square Association sent out the following message to residents. With its permission, we are sharing this message with Buzz readers:
WSA Crime Incident Report
Information, and misinformation, is traveling around the neighborhood about an incident that occurred this past Monday, August 1, shortly after noon. The incident, a shooting without known injury, occurred on the 600 block of Lorraine (between 6th and Wilshire). We want you to have the most accurate information that we have from our Senior Lead LAPD Officer Joe Pelayo, and that’s the reason for this email update.
The details from LAPD are that the incident occurred between the occupants of two cars, and did not involve residents of Windsor Square. A red minivan parked on South Lorraine, followed by a black SUV. A man exited the SUV and began shouting at occupants of the minivan, while pointing a gun. The black SUV drove away. The armed man then fired three shots at the passenger side of the minivan. The minivan then also drove off and the shooter walked towards 6th. LAPD recovered the weapon at the scene but they have no suspects at this time.
