Find Your Voting Center

As we reported, voting in 2020 is changing, and changing for the better. While we will miss our local polling places (some of us have been voting in our neighbors garages or local churches for decades), the new system  is much more convenient and more accessible. And best of all, voters have the option to vote over an 11-day period at ANY vote center located throughout Los Angeles County.

The new voting machines are also designed to increase accessibility to all voters. The vote-by-mail ballot has also been redesigned to make it easier to vote. And there’s even a mobile phone app that allows voters to mark a sample ballot that can be transferred to the voting machine, making it even easier and faster to cast your ballot in person.

“The new voting experience is designed to be intuitive and accessible. The Voting Solutions for All People (VSAP) model gives all voters, regardless of age, disability or language, a private and independent voting experience that is accessible and convenient,” explains the Los Angeles County Registrar’s Office website.

This week’s biggest news is the announcement of the new voting center locations. Click this link to an interactive map on the County Registrar’s website to find the closest voting center near you.  Thanks especially to our local schools, whicho have stepped up to offer this service to voters for the upcoming March 3 primary election. Voting will start on February 22, 2020, and will continue for eleven consecutive days before the primary until polls close on election day, March 3, 2020.  Some centers will be open for four days, starting February 29.
