Hidden Jeans Settling in on Larchmont

Jenipher Park and her Hidden Jeans creative team, Andrew and Tiffany.

We stopped by Hidden Jeans the other day to chat with owner and long-time local resident Jenipher Park. She and her Creative Director, Tiffany Kim, were in the midst of re-arranging the store for an upcoming storewide sale as well as getting ready for Valentine’s Day.

Before she started her family, Park said, she spent years opening stores for a large retailer.  And now she and her husband are working together to build Hidden Jeans, a quality, affordable denim brand sold in department stores and on-line direct to customers. The Larchmont store is the brand’s only retail location.

Park told the Buzz she is so excited to be located on Larchmont, and that it was always her dream to open a store in the neighborhood.

“For me, it’s a daughter-to-mother shop,” said Park. “I want the shop to be a place where teenagers and young girls are welcome to shop and browse around.”

Park has teenagers now and said she is delighted to see moms coming with their daughters and shopping the wide range of items she and her staff have artfully displayed in the store, including clothing, jewelry, house slippers, hair clips, socks, pillows even succulent plant arrangements that Park makes herself. But the denim jeans are the heart of the store and Park carries a wide ranges of every changing styles and some classics, making it a multigenerational store with something for both moms and daughters.

Succulent arrangements made by Park are artfully arranged on the jewelry case which features fine and casual jewelry.

And Park said she is delighted to see teenagers coming into the store. Many she knows from her years in the St. James school and community. Her creative staff, Andrew and Tiffany, are both recent college grads Park knows from the neighborhood. She’s also using local girls as models in her Instagram posts, instead of professional models. Watching Park and her staff interact with customers, it’s clear she’s excited to be part of the neighborhood.

Stop in for the storewide sale that starts next week.
