Windsor Square Robbery Alert

Update
While the robbery didn’t take place in Windsor Square, the victim lived in Windsor Square. Sunday afternoon, we heard from her mom, Jackie Martinez, that the victim and a friend were robbed at gunpoint while walking to their parked car in the back of Jaraguá Restaurant on Beverly Blvd. Both victims purses were stolen, containing cell phones, ids and keys to their residences. Restaurant staff helped the victims contact the police and family members. Martinez told us she had to change all their home locks and rekey their vehicle. She said her daughter and her friend are ok but clearly shaken by the incident. Thankful that her daughter is safe, Martinez said she hopes it can be a lesson to everyone to be vigilant about their surroundings.

The Windsor Square Association sent the following alert to residents Friday evening to be alert due to a recent armed robbery in the neighborhood. Neither of the incidents reported took place in Windsor Square. The flyer below contains more information.

“LAPD Olympic Division circulated a Community Alert this afternoon and asked that we distribute their flyer to the Windsor Square community. LAPD has asked that you share the flyer with your friends and family, and that you be safe and vigilant.

“The flyer is included below, click below or here for a full size version. It concerns two incidents of armed robbery on Wednesday, March 15. The suspect fled after taking property from the victims. Neither of the incidents reported took place in Windsor Square, but did occur in our larger community.
