Just after midnight Thursday morning, the front door of the Crumbs Bake Shop on Larchmont was smashed as perpetrators hurled a rock through the glass and attempted to rob the store of cash. Fortunately, there was no cash to be taken – and the burglars carted off an empty cash register.
It was reported that the robbery was during business hours, but it actually occurred while the store was closed – so no individuals were in harm’s way.
The store was delayed in opening while police completed their investigation. They did re-open for afternoon business.
