Last night, it appears that a customer walked out with an employee’s cellphone at the Village Pizzeria.
According to owner Steve Cohen, a couple -a man and a woman – ate dinner at the restaurant early Monday evening. After paying their bill in cash, the male waited around then grabbed an employee’s cell phone that was sitting on a shelf in the back of the restaurant. The phone is often used to plug into the restaurant’s stereo system, though it was just sitting on the shelf at the time.
“He waited, waited – looked around, planned it, waited for the opportunity then grabbed the phone and they quickly walked out at 6:10pm Monday nite!…” Steve posted on the Buzz’s Facebook page yesterday.  He also shared the photos below from his security cameras.
Stunned that someone would take the phone, Steve told us, “what kind of  person would visit a neighborhood family establishment, eat their food, interact with the staff that served them their food and brought them their check and then rob them?  The worst part is, the server is sure they’ve been in before.”Â
Anyone with information on this theft can contact Steve or LAPD.
