GWNC Environmental and Sustainability Committee to Discuss El Niño Preparedness

Are you prepared for El Niño?

With this year’s weather pattern estimated to be the strongest in years, Angelenos are advised to prepare their homes and property for the coming rains and to arm themselves with safety tips.  City Council Member David Ryu will be hosing a Town Hall meeting on the subject on Monday, December 7…but in the meantime, you can also attend a more local discussion.

Tonight,  at a meeting of the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council’s Environmental and Sustainability Committee (7:00 p.m. at the Wilshire United Methodist Church, 4350 Wilshire Blvd.) Chuck Turhollow, P.E., Division Manager, Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation, will discuss El Niño preparedness.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.  Other topics on the agenda include water conservation, rain barrel distributions and a spring tour of drought-tolerant gardens.
