Something is always changing on Larchmont Blvd. This week we learned that Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is gone and Topikal CBD is opening.

Mr. Holmes Bakehouse closed earlier this week, according to Eater LA. We stopped by Friday and took a photo of the announcement posted on the window. It seems like the business owners took an offer to sublease their space. We contacted the management, but haven’t heard back yet. Eater LA reported the “word is the new business will not be a restaurant.” We’ll keep you posted on what we hear.

Topikal, a CBD retail boutique, is opening at 143 North Larchmont, formerly Perverse Sunglasses. We met owners and founders Gary and Greg Avetisyan yesterday while they were spackling the walls of their new store. Topikal will offer a wide array of CBD infused products like creams, oils, bath balms, teas, and sublingual oils. The Larchmont store is their second location, the first is in Tarzana.
“We were the first CBD store to open in California,” explained Gary Avetisyan. “We lab test all the products we sell, we manufacture some and we curate the rest.” In 2018 The LA Times reported on Topikal’s Trazana store:
“Greg and Gary Avetisyan of Topikal sell products they make themselves, such as CBD pain cream and emu oil salve (popular among those suffering from eczema and psoriasis, they say) as well as items from other companies. All of their products are tested by a third party to ensure they’re pesticide- and metal-free and contain less than 0.3% THC, the legal limit for hemp-derived CBD.”
