Proposed Temporary Homeless Shelter in Koreatown Divides Community

Some residents in Koreatown are pushing back against the City’s plan to place a temporary homeless shelter in their neighborhood saying the community was not consulted, according to Curbed  Others support Mayor Garcetti’s efforts to build temporary shelters. The shelter is proposed to be placed on a city lot at Wilshire Blvd and Vermont Avenue.

A public hearing on the Koreatown project is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, at 8:30 a.m. at city hall.
