In the 1930s, 144 S. Plymouth was the residence and studio of artist Mabel Alvarez.  Mabel was a leader the Southern California Modernism and California Impressionism movements. Private collectors of her work included Samuel Goldwyn, Irving Berlin, Milton Berle and Henry Fonda and she was frequently shown and supported at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA.)  Her art studio still stands here in Windsor Square.

Today, this 1923 traditional home is a seamless blend of warmth and elegance.  Located on one of the most coveted interior blocks of Windsor Square, this tasteful home offers a center hall plan, large living room with fireplace, leaded glass windows and a handsome formal dining room.

A cook’s kitchen with honed marble countertops and generous pantry space adjoin the delightful breakfast room. Both the breakfast room and comfortable den afford French door access to a lovely patio and yard. A downstairs office/maid’s and bath complete the first floor. Upstairs is a spacious master and four additional bedrooms with three baths. A permanent staircase leads directly to the attic with exceptional storage.

The beautifully landscaped yard, romantic courtyard with fountain, artist’s studio and two car garage complete the perfect picture.

Subsequent owners have kept up with the tradition being innovators and creators in their fields. You and yours can be next!
