Avoid the 300 block of South Lorraine in Windsor Square for the next few days as a large tree limb has fallen and blocked the street. The fallen branch, which appears to be from a Deodar Cedar on the east side of the street mid-block, spans the width of Lorraine Blvd.
According to a resident on the street, the branch came down sometime on Easter Sunday sometime between 4 and 9 pm. The LA Bureau of Street Services has been called to remove the downed branch, hopefully within the next day or two.
Interested in the canopy that provides shade to Windsor Square? The Windsor Square Association has a Master Plan of Parkway Trees that identifies trees in the area, and gives homeowners helpful information via the Urban Forestry Ecosystems Institute at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Since 1996, the Windsor Square Canopy (committee) has inventoried trees on all 1100 properties in Windsor Square, and replanted trees where needed.
