Daylight Savings Time Ends Sunday – Set Back Your Clocks!

As a reminder, we took the liberty of setting back the Larchmont Village clock!

Daylight Savings Time ends 2:00 a.m. Sunday, November 3, 2019.  So be sure to set your clocks back an hour tonight so you aren’t late for anything Sunday morning.

That is, if you still have clocks you need to set. We have a few manual clocks around the house, but increasingly all essential clocks, like smart tvs, computers, even cars are now, connected to the internet and automatically update themselves. So even if you don’t have to set them, you should double check to make sure you get that extra hour of sleep you’ve earned!

Historically, daylight saving time has begun in the summer months and ended for winter, best remembered by the rhyme – spring forward, fall back!

Adjusting time is an age old human practice, just like everyone wanting to do their own thing.  Last year Californian’s voted to pass Proposition 7 allowing the state to apply year-round daylight savings — once the federal government lets states decide.

Who knows, perhaps we won’t be following this annual ritual of changing clocks in the future, but we are this weekend!
