With a little less than a week until the DNC fundraiser in Hancock Park featuring President Barack Obama, organizers have announced a widening of the potential pool of donors. Originally capped at 35 donors, the September 9th event appeared that it would be a blip on our traffic radar.
Now, all traffic bets for our area are off…as the potential for traffic snarls has risen. For two reasons:
- The President has been scheduled to speak at the AFL-CIO convention in Downtown LA at the JW Marriot on Olympic at Figueroa. That appearance is scheduled for sometime between 2:30p-5:30p.
- The DNC has added more people to the Hancock Park event. A reception and photo line for those who donate $5,000 and raise an additional $20,000 will allow for more people to participate in the fundraiser. More people, equals more cars and more time that President Obama needs to be in the area.
The Hancock Park event will be an evening affair. More info as it becomes available.
