There was an electrical outage in the Larchmont area, north of Beverly, around 5:30pm Sunday. LADWP was on the case immediately and estimated a four-hour fix. No word yet on whether it was caused by the heavy rains. In the picture above, LADWP workers worked at Clinton, between Gower and Beachwood. Many residents had to find alternative options for viewing the Oscars, which were being presented live just three miles north in the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Blvd.
Also in the area, a fire broke out in a sound stage on the Paramount Lot on Sunday night around 8:30 pm. The LA Fire Department responded with 44 firefighters and the fire was put down in a half hour. No reports yet on how much damage was done, what caused the fire, or if the sound stage had been in use when the fire broke out.
