Students at St. Brendan School had quite a surprise on Friday morning when a couple of impish voices came on over the loudspeaker, requesting their presence for a “Royal Adventure” in the Parish Hall. The pint-sized starlets Sophia Grace and Rosie, who have garnered quite a following from performances on the Ellen De Generes Show, made a surprise visit to St Brendan to screen their soon-to-be-released film “Sophia Grace and Rosie’s Royal Adventure” for students in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades at St Brendan School.
The young British duo, accompanied by their parents and a television crew from the Ellen Show, entertained the student body on stage for a bit, then screened the movie, providing popcorn, cotton candy and coconut water for the St Brendan students. “It was a pretty good movie,” Lyra Holahan a fourth grader told the Buzz. “I don’t know what the boys thought of it. I think they liked the treats.” A fifth grader told teacher Tara Prieto, who helped coordinate the event, “It was paradise!”
“The kids were just thrilled,” Sister Maureen O’Connor, Principal of St Brendan told us. The rest of the school were in classes, while at the same time the staff was preparing for the annual St Brendan Talent Show which took place that afternoon, making it a very lively spring day for the students and faculty.
The Ellen De Generes Show is expected to screen a segment about the movie and the visit to St Brendan sometime in May, 2014. Â No firm air time has been determined yet – but stay posted!
