Larchmont Family Fair Was Fun for Everyone!

Four generations of the Layport family enjoyed the Larchmont Family Fair on Sunday

It was a beautiful October day and Larchmont Blvd. was filled with people enjoying the Larchmont Family Fair on Sunday, October 29. The Larchmont Family Fair is an annual neighborhood tradition organized by the Larchmont Boulevard Association. This year the fair was supported by nearly 30 local businesses as sponsors of the Fair. Proceeds from the fair are invested in the security and beautification of the boulevard. And, nearly 50 schools, nonprofit organizations, and local Larchmont businesses participated with booths offering games, Halloween treats, and helpful information.

“We are so elated over the community coming together once again to celebrate all the goodness, kindness, and love that is the Larchmont community,” Fair organizer and LBA board member Melissa Farwell told the Buzz. Farwell, Director of Market Coordination and Development for the California Certified Farmers Markets, teamed up with fellow LBA Board member Sharon Sweeney of the Fairway Group to produce this year’s fair.

“Sharon and I are truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community! The Family Fair was a huge success in our eyes because all those families and residents came out and celebrated in a big way! Thank you to the sponsors, merchants, non-profits, local schools, Non-Stop Fun Rides, the Farmers Market, and all the food booth vendors that made it a truly magical day!”

The Buzz had a great time greeting readers and meeting new ones. We gave out dozens of seed bombs filled with native wildflower and poppy seeds and 50 kitchen compost pails from LASAN. Thanks to everyone who brought their plastic bags to Ridwell, which will be recycling that material.

We hope you enjoy some photos from yesterday’s festivities.
