Lunar Eclipse Dazzles in Clear Skies

Yesterday’s full moon/total lunar eclipse/”super blood wolf” moon put on a great show for Angelenos, under mostly clear skies.  We’ve seen a lot of terrific pictures, including the one above, sent by reader Linda Sanoff.

Finally, here’s a series taken from my own front steps (using just a compact Nikon Coolpix B500 camera, with its built-in 4-160 mm optical zoom lens, and a tripod), as the eclipse progressed toward its totality:
