New Street Sweeping Schedules Available on Interactive Map

Map showing the new schedules for every-other-week street sweeping. Illegally parked cars will be ticketed only on days/weeks when sweeping is taking place.

The Bureau of Street Servcies recently announced that because of COVID-19-related budget issues, the city’s street sweeping schedules will be cut back from once a week to every two weeks.  According to the StreetsLA website:

“Staff shortages due to the financial crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting Citywide hiring freeze necessitate that we reduce the frequency of street sweeping: routes that had received weekly sweeping will now be swept biweekly, meaning on either the first and third weeks of the month or the second and fourth weeks of the month.”

Although posted street signage will not change, ticketing for parking on sweeping days will be limited to the weeks when streets are actually being swept, so you’ll definitely want to keep track of your neighborhood’s particular schedule…and a new interactive map has been published to help with just that.

To find out which every-other-week-schedule your block is on (e.g. 2nd and 4th Thursdays, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, etc.), just click on the route shown for your address and the schedule will appear in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

The map page also includes a handy form to sign up for street sweeping notifications via email (text notifications are coming soon, but not yet available).  Notifications will be sent 24 to 48 hours before your block will be swept, to help you keep track of the new schedule.
