laupheader2

Do you know an outstanding preschool teacher who deserves to be recognized for the meaningful work she (or he) does with children every day?

laupLogoThe Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) organization, a 10-year-old non-profit dedicated to supporting the development of the whole child, growing a qualified and diverse workforce, and strengthening family engagement, is seeking nominations  from all over Los Angeles County to honor outstanding preschool teachers for its LA County Preschool Teacher of the Year Awards. Any preschool teacher in LA County is eligible – private, public, or charter. For the past nine years, as part of its effort to recognize quality programs that give young learners the developmental skills they need to succeed in school and in life, LAUP has honored the achievements of preschool teachers who are making a difference throughout LA County.

Nomination forms are due February 19, 2016. Click here for the nomination form.

Each winning teacher is awarded a $2,000 cash stipend through the Elizabeth Lowe / Bob Weekley Award for Excellence in Preschool Teaching endowment, as well as classroom supplies generously donated by Lakeshore Learning Materials. In addition, winners will be honored with a celebration luncheon in May at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration and presented with an official scroll from the LA County Board of Supervisors. For more information, please visit LAUP.net.  For questions regarding the award and nomination process, contact Ben Bove at [email protected].

LAUP creates and sustains strategic partnerships and advocates for policies that promote access and program excellence. Since 2005, LAUP has prepared more than 115,000 children for kindergarten and beyond by funding, rating and raising the level of quality preschool programs throughout Los Angeles County.
