Over the last two weeks, workers from the LA Bureau of Street Services installed the monument that will act as the gateway to the northern end of Larchmont Boulevard. On Wednesday, a BSS team was back to add the rock masonry and complete a symmetrical look with the original monument at Larchmont Boulevard and 3rd Street.
As reported earlier on the Buzz, finishing work on the north Larchmont medians has been delayed while Bureau of Street Services completes similar work on the new medians along Pico between La Brea and Fairfax. In the meantime, representative from BSS have scheduled a crew to remove the weeds that have taken over the empty planters.
love to know how that was funded
Combined funds including a grant from the City via CD 4, plus the proceeds of a prior year’s Windsor Square Hancock Park Historical Society Garden Tour and Party fundraising, plus perhaps some other minor sources. Thisnfirst phase and block of funds covere consteuction and the intial landscaping of the planters. The future maintenance of the flower beds will tap different funds, mostly private. Feel free to attend the Larchmont Village Neighborhood Assn. Semi annual meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 7 p.m., at Van Ness Elementary to learn more. The LVNA covers Melrose to Beverly, Wilton to Arden.
