
Thanks to our intrepid sky watcher, Hancock Park-based Linda Sanoff, we have an image of the morning sky Friday morning at 7:31 AM PST, when a SpaceX Falcon 9 Iridium-8 rocket was launched and the first stage landed back to earth. Unfortunately, our neighborhood sky on Friday morning was covered in clouds preventing our viewing of the launch. However, the sky was clear at the launch site and the video captured from SpaceX is pretty spectacular.
“This link is what I watched/listened to as I stared up at the cloudy sky,” wrote Sanoff, reporting to the Buzz. “You have to love the launch pad being called ‘Just Read the Instructions.’ Watching the YouTube video makes me marvel at what our scientists and engineers can accomplish!”
