COVID-19 Local Case Counter

LA County’s map of current COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, April 8. “Melrose” (see notes below) is the red area near the top of the frame, showing 164 current cases. “Hancock Park” shows 45.  (Note that the County’s neighborhood reporting boundaries do NOT follow our neighborhoods’ own locally-defined borders.)

We’re guessing that we’re not the only local residents rather obsessively watching the many charts and maps tracking the COVID-19 outbreak, but most of the trackers we’ve seen cover pretty large areas – county, state, national, and global.  So we extracted some data from the Los Angeles County Health Department’s COVID-19 Dashboard to create a current case graph much more local to our own Larchmont Buzz readership area.  We’ll keep the graph easy to find with our other COVID-19 resources in our main menu, above, and we’ll update the numbers daily as the pandemic continues.
