This week there are several opportunities to get vaccinated and donate blood. In case you missed it last time, the Original Farmers Market is hosting another COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, June 30 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Participants can choose from the two-dose Pfizer vaccine or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. (Note: 2nd dose Pfizer vaccine will need to be scheduled at a local Rite Aid location. Also, children ages 12-18 may only receive the Pfizer vaccine.)
“We had a wide range of people come to the last clinic in early June – customers and staff. It was really wonderful, and so we are doing it again,” explained Ilysha Buss, director of marketing for the Original Farmers Market. “The clinic is open to everyone; you don’t have to be a resident. We are just hoping to get as many people as possible. This is a great opportunity to get the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.”

The Market is trying to make it super easy, with free parking all day…and they’re even offering prizes! Every vaccine participant will receive a Farmers Market tote bag and will be entered to win other great prizes. You can make an appointment here, but walk-ups are also welcome.
Then, on Thursday, July 1 and Friday, July 2, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. the Cedars-Sinai Bloodmobile Bus will be at The Original Farmers Market for urgently needed free blood donations. Testing for COVID-19 antibodies is included for all who successfully donate, and Cedars-Sinai will provide each donor with a complimentary health screening, including blood pressure assessment, iron/hematocrit reading, temperature and pulse reading. All donors will receive a FREE pickle from Kaylin and Kaylin and will be entered into a drawing for a $40 Original Farmers Market gift certificate.

Finally, as we reported earlier, if you would like to give blood even sooner, there will also be a Red Cross Bloodmobile parked in front of Larchmont Sanctuary Spa, 331 N. Larchmont Blvd., on Tuesday, June 29 (today!), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can make an appointment here. Larchmont Sanctuary Spa blood drives have collected 121 pints of blood over the past 6 years.
