Meet the “Larchmont Village People”

Larchmont Village people (l-r) Karlee Leilani, Marco Dapper, Donny Blaylock Jr., Michael Soriano and Todd Vitti enjoy getting together daily on Larchmont.

Earlier this week, we met a group of friends who gather for coffee most mornings at Groundwork on Larchmont Blvd.

“You can call us the “Larchmont Village People,” said Michael Soriano who reached out to the Buzz to tell us about his friends.  “We meet every morning at Groundwork Coffee to discuss current events, historic events, and our personal life stories.”

The friends have known each other loosely for a while but started meeting regularly about a year ago, during the pandemic. Soriano, who recently retired from UCLA Health, brings his dog Willie for coffee every day.

“I’ve known Marco for several years and Todd has known Karlee and Donny for several years as well,” explained Soriano. “It’s a fun group and many other new friends stop by to talk to us. We welcome everyone to stop by and say “Hi”! We love meeting new friends!”

We enjoyed visiting with everyone and hearing their thoughts about the evolution of life on Larchmont (one of our favorite topics!) since all are long time neighbors who actively support Larchmont’s shops and eateries.

Are you part of a group that meets regularly for coffee on Larchmont? Let us know, we’d like to meet you too.
