Residents of Windsor Village gathered on Sunday at the home of Windsor Village Association president Diane Dicksteen to discuss neighborhood issues and elect the members of the Windsor Village Association board. Residents elected five neighbors whose two-year terms will start in December: Heather Brel, Vera Borges,  Joe Donnelly, Barbara Pflaumer, and Julie Stromberg (currently serving on the board and re-elected). They join five current board members: Chris Cordone, Julie Kim, Rick Kraemer, Nathalie Rosen and Ginger Tanner. The new 10-member board will meet in December and elect officers. Candidate statements can be found here.

Long-time board officers President Diane Dicksteen and Treasurer Betty Fox are both retiring from the board, but have promised to stay active in the neighborhood.

“I’ve been serving for so long, I can’t remember, so it’s time for me to move on,” Dicksteen told the Buzz. Last year Dicksteen was honored by the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council for her tireless efforts on behalf of the neighborhood.

Windsor Village is bordered by Wilshire Blvd on the north, Olympic Blvd on the south, Lucerne Blvd on the west and Crenshaw on the east.  It’s and home to approximately 900 residents living in homes, apartments and condominiums on about 300 lots.

The historic neighborhood is protected by an HPOZ enacted in 2010. Much of the community was built in the 1920s and offers fine examples of Spanish colonial, French eclectic, English tudor, mediterranean, Italian renaissance and colonial revival architecture.
