Hans Custom Optik is moving to 419 3/4 N. Larchmont Blvd. at the end of this month,  owner Hans Fiebig told the Buzz last week. The shop will be moving to a second floor store front in the shopping mall. (But Fiebig says there are both stairs and an elevator, for easy customer access.)
After 30 years at his current Larchmont Village location, Fiebig says he lost his lease when building owner Ronald Simms refused to renew.
Fiebig says he is delighted to have found another location on Larchmont, but he deeply regrets having to move. He said he simply could not afford the $12,000 a month his space would cost if he stayed there.
Fiebig, who lives in Hancock Park, has been in the optometry business 60 years. His lenses have graced celebrities and locals alike. Fiebig had planned to retire, even before his lease was not renewed, according to the Larchmont Chronicle.
