It’s official, another beloved Larchmont shop is closing.
“landislabyrinth – 50% off EVERYTHING till August 20th! If you are interested in any of our furniture or fixtures, please message me here. Thank you for your patronage for all these years! 💞” read the announcement posted on Landis’ Labyrinth Toy Shop’s Instagram account this morning.
Landis Labyrinth is located in the former Lipson Building at 126-148 N. Larchmont Blvd. The building is now owned by Christina Development, which plans to undertake a major renovation of the historic building, built by Larchmont developer Julius La Bonte. Several tenants in the buildinghave told the Buzz they could not extend their leases.
In an interview with the Buzz in May, Liza Killian, Director of Marketing at Christina Development, said all the tenants are welcome to stay. But now it seems the company has decided to empty the building in advance of what is likely to be a major renovation of the building. As we reported in May, the new owners seem to be moving ahead with their plans to renovate the building and rename it the “Larchmont Mercantile.”
Previously, we reported the Larchmont Barber Shop announced it is leaving the street at the end of year.

That makes me so sad. The iconic Landis Labrynith Toy shop and classic barbershop made Larchmont Village special and gave it that hometown feeling. I’m truly sad to see it go.
