Heidi Abra Celebration Sale Feb. 13-14

Heidi Abra is celebrating the closing her “Haute Bohemian” boutique, after 12 years on Beverly Blvd., with a sale this weekend. However, her clothing and jewelry designs can be found online at

“It’s time for a new chapter,” explained the clothing and jewelry designer, known for her romantic flowing dresses, each hand made in limited editions and featuring gemstones and finely detailed beading. Her gemstone belts are another signature item and best seller. Entirely handmade from semi-precious stones, the belt buckles can be worn with everything from jeans to long dresses.

“It’s a new year, and time for a big change!” wrote Abra in an e-mail to friends and patrons announcing the boutique closing party, which is fittingly timed for Valentine’s Day weekend, February 13-14. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to travel, explore, wander and discover new inspiration for my next creative projects.”

A native of Los Angeles, Abra began her design career as a photography major at CalArts. Informed by the years she spent traveling the globe working as a model, Abra returned to Los Angeles and started making jewelry, then moved into clothing design, including bags and other accessories. Her unique style of juxtaposing the unexpected appealed to exclusive stores like by Henri Bendel, Neiman Marcus and Fred Segal. Soon after, she decided to open her own showroom to create an environment for her clients. Abra explained she wanted to create a different sort of retail space — a home, if you will, where customers could come in, relax and shop.

“I wanted to create a respite from the busy streets that surrounds us,” said Abra.

For the past 12 years, that serene space has been on Beverly Blvd. But now it’s time for Abra to turn her attention to other interests. Everything in the store, including the elegant furnishings, collected by Abra over the years to provide a one of kind show place for her distinctive work, is for sale. But fear not.  Those who love her fashions will still be able to find them through her website
