Yesterday, we stopped by to visit Compass Real Estate, which officially opened its new office at 156 N. Larchmont on Monday with an all-day open house.
Last March, we reported that Pacific Union, now part of Compass, was renovating the top floor the Keystone Building, which is owned by the heirs of late Albert Mizrahi. The large open floor plan was designed by Associate Manager Bret Parsons to be both architecture- and community-centric (Parsons has even offered the office’s large outdoor terrace for community meetings). The first floor retail space of the building was formerly the home of Larchmont Hardware, and now contains a clothing boutique (“Hardwear”) operated by Mizrahi’s family, along with Sam’s Bagels and Groundwork Coffee.
In addition to providing work space and community space, the office doubles as a gallery. Parsons invited Merry Norris to fill the office with the work of Los Angeles artist TM Gratkowski. His densely layered collage paintings are available for sale. Visitors are welcome to stop in and inquire.
